I’m Jackie Dorothy, an award-winning journalist, historian, and memoir coach. I am a Northern Arapaho tribal member, descendant of the Eastern Shoshone and daughter of unconventional Bostonians, mountain men and immigrants. I bring curiosity to my work and an excitement to uncover our shared history and its mysteries.
For more than two decades, I’ve interviewed people, researched the past, and shared stories in my work with PBS, NBC, and regional news agencies. Currently, I am a feature writer and historian for Cowboy State Daily. I also help people save their own memories and communities bring their stories together.
My work begins with listening, following my curiosity, and circling back to ask, “Tell me more about that.”
I am available to talk stories - whether it is one-on-one or from the podium!

The most interesting conversations happen around the table - whether it is in the Cowboy Cafe in Meeteetse or virtually!

Often the best way to get a story is to go there! Whether I am guiding a tour or interviewing a local, I'm always up for the adventure! All age groups welcome!
